It's so fun to see how you are all planning this!
I have pretty much no experience with RP and I doubt I will have much time to join.

But if you're unsure of anything or need additional info about settings and stuff, just let me know.
I am currently working on a map of Victubia which might make things a bit easier (will take a few days though).

Ok some quick questions:
-Will people be abble to create own groups?
-Can some people be badguys/girls?
-Can there be a money system? (so people can get jobs in the rp)

'Commendations' will be our 'currency' .

Depending on how well you do a mission (it will probably be based on grammar and word count for the whole mission)

It will also take into consideration who your mission partner is.

Since the general rp will be centered around the Victubia Schools, will that lock locations such as Toasty Towers, Minx's Castle and Late Night Bar? Also is possible to roleplay in other roles, such as doctor, technician, shopkeeper and civilian?

Can there also be a separate forum to post the profiles of our characters?

Hmm... that'd make scenarios a lot easier to come up with.

If we do get stats and commendations, maybe we should set up two character types for that, one for mages and one for non-mages? And give non-mages stuff that they can learn to do that mages can't learn (or not as easily) so that non-mage characters can still be handy and useful? Or is that making it too complicated?

A section to post characters profiles in would be grand, too. That reminds me: are we allowed to rp multiple characters at once? Because I DO have this idea for a villain character. He'd be like, Snape from Harry Potter meets Zhao from Avatar and be really petty and mess with students and just be a butt. But I don't want to not get to RP my shameless-self-insert-of-a-character student, too.

I promise not to go in a corner and RP with myself and weird everyone out.*puppy dog eyes*

You'd probably have to make the text different for that to stop confusion as to who's talking, but I don't really see a problem with it, eddeha.

So we can't roleplay as anything but students and teachers?

Hello! Hoping to join the community here.

Since the setting is the academy and my character is basically unemployed, I can see myself free-lancing as a librarian or something, and so I don't see a problem with OCs who aren't students/teachers. I just hope these "missions" are available for all kinds of OCs and not only those with certain "jobs"!

I'm very new to RP and hoping to learn many great stuff from everyone!

I've seen an rp site use posts as currency. Is it possible to implement that so if people miss out on missions it doesn't limit them from buying stuff? If not maybe non-student's could get currency regularly if they remain an active roleplayer?

I feel that solely making the rp site only about the school is very limiting for roleplayers. It can center around the school but it shouldn't stop others from creating non-student characters and have them roam around, explore and mingle with the rest of Victubia

I think they're trying to start off small so they can build up the community, and then branch out so they can work out any problems they might have. It would could also be seen as a way to show you characters before they got where they wanted to be and how they met their friends.

Using posts as currency unfortunately would cause soooo much spam so I think focusing on 'quality' posts during missions would be more sensible.

I'm currently thinking of a way non-students can be tied in but right now my brain is coming at a standstill as to how they learn their skills. (We can't just have people automatically knowing everything, what fun is that?)

First of all, would it make sense to give different categories of people different initial stats? A VMA graduate or teacher by default would have higher stats than a VMA undergrad. The same goes for people who go to VA.

Secondly, I don't see how the missions couldn't incorporate non-student characters; the Academy is supposedly huge, and all kinds of people can be in it working and doing their stuff, e.g. doctors in the school's clinic, librarians, artists community, cafeteria workers, technology club and system maintenance, etc. etc.

TL/DR I say make the missions very open-ended (more like free-for-all mini one-time jobs) so that all the non-student characters can join in...maybe?

Well for the VA students the jobs could be something simple that everyone could join in on like going to the lower class areas and medical students can help the sick, some can help with repairing houses, ect

Yeah there will be student missions and town missions, obviously student missions will only be available if you are a student or have a student in your party.

They will not necessarily be "save the queen from the goblin king" as that is kind of extreme... most of the time it will be "help me plant these herbs" or "find out what's been stealing pies"

I think it would be worth doing a straw poll/tally of how many Non-Magi OCs there actually are (well so far anyway) that way we can see if the demand is high enough to also focus on the non-mages. If there isn't, it can give us an opportunity to focus specifically on the VMA. (Again we can branch off in the future but I think one main focus is probably the best and arguably easiest way to start this roleplay off)

For the posts as currency, the site could use word limits to prevent spam.

Maybe in order to learn skills, the rpers could buy them? And the skills could have tiers that they have to keep buying to make their character powerful in that certain skill? Also could we have starter sets as so everyone can begin with something like a mage can start with basic water/fire/earth/wind/lighting/wood/metal spells or abilities and a non mage could start with basic weaponry and tools.

Could we also put in rules such as no vox magic, double magic or spirit sage ocs?

In Victubia it is considered so rare to know more than one element that only a few people have it.

Also as per Gabbi-

There are less than 100 shapeshifters in the world, meaning it's VERY VERY rare. (also meaning unless your character is approved you may not be 'allowed' to be a shapeshifter, I know it's kinda mean but it will stop everyone from just being a furry.) (inb4 "youre one to talk Izik!" I didn't make my character, Gabbi did.)

As for my 'personal' rules-

No OC RP Characters may pick Vox as their element at this time. Sorry none of us know much about it, or what it even is so it wouldn't really make any sense if that was YOUR element. We will be keeping that element for main storyline people Gabbi wants as Vox users.

Dual element users will also be so rare that OC RPers may not choose to be one without prior approval.

I'll put out an official rulebook soon yeah?

Don't worry-- If the rules I have thought out are done properly non-mages may also be playable.
